Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy is the use of essential oils to promote healing and a feeling of well-being and relaxation.

Essential oils are aromatic, volatile susbstances extracted from a single botanical source by distallation or expression. They extracted from various parts of plants.

Essential oils consist of tiny aromatic molecules that can be absorbed by the skin (after being added to a carrier oil).  These theraputic constituents enter the bloodstream and are carried around the body where they can deliver their beneficial healing powers. Their powers are also boosted by the fact that, at the same time they are applied to the skin, we are also inhaling their properties.

Our sense of smell is considered to be the strongest sense which can affect moods and emotions.  When essential oils are inhaled through the nose they travel to the olfactory system in the brain

The Aromatherapy Massage is a wonderfully gentle ritualistic massage concentrating on lymph drainage.  After a full consultation, essential oils specific to your emotional and physical needs will be blended into a carrier oil to be applied to your skin during your massage.

  • Do not shower or bathe for 8 hours to give the oils time to penetrate through your skin into your bloodstream.

  • Do not sunbathe or use sunbeds for 24 hours as some oils are phototoxic and can cause the skin to burn.
